With the use of graphic variants, the layout of the drawing can be controlled in a simple manner. Different graphic variants make it easier to switch the plan layout quickly.

The graphic variants can be structured differently.

Examples:

• Thematic structure: draft, technical plan, area overview, etc.
• Scaled breakdown: M1: 100, M1: 200, M1: 500 etc.
• Graphic structure: color fills, hatching, pixel images, etc.
• Structure according to output: color plan, black and white plan, grayscale, etc.

How you want to structure the three variants now depends on how you work.

To use graphics, you can use the field Graphic assignments Hatches, fills, symbol lines, image hatches and blocks can be added.

It is also possible to get the graphics directly from the library Quick manager to the graphic assignments area (using drag & drop). Then the existing properties are used as far as possible.

	hatching	You can one Pattern from the hatch file acadiso.pat choose. see also graphic hatching
	filling	In addition to Solid with one color, can also be one color gradient with a second color and a corresponding gradient. To do this, select the appropriate Pattern from the list. see also graphic color gradient
	Symbol line	You can choose a pattern from the list of symbol lines. This list can be made with your own Symbol lines can be added. see also graphic Symbol line
	Line type	Select a pattern from the list of loaded line types. In the dialog box Select line type (Layer Properties Manager), additional line types can be loaded. see also graphic Line type

Graphics can be assigned at group or object level. The graphic property is automatically inherited by all subordinate groups and objects when it is created.

All created graphics are inserted into the drawing with the height Z = 0,00. At 3D-Objekten the graphic is always inserted in 2D. To give you a quick overview of which objects have been assigned a graphic property, the objects are saved in Mass tree shown differently . Groups do not receive any symbol changes.

As soon as you have defined the graphic, these settings can be locked for the selected group and used in the Theme Manager to save:

	Lock unlock	Locks the graphic so that changes to the graphic made in higher-level groups are not adopted.
	Apply to New Topic	The graphic of the selected variant is saved in a new graphic sub-theme. The name of the group marked in the mass tree is used for this.
	Apply to existing topic	The graphic of the selected variant is saved in the existing graphic sub-theme. If the selected group has not yet been assigned a topic, the graphic is saved in the standard.

Theme Manager
