DATAflor Version manager (version 2022)
Description
With the help of DATAflor Version managers keep your DATAflor Products (from version 2022) always up to date.

The Service DATAflor Version manager checks the availability of new patches, downloads them and starts the installation. in the Version manager Additional functions such as manual checking of new patches and user rights management are available.
How the service works
at the individual workstation
a) The service DATAflor Version manager checks whether the installed DATAflor Products have new patches. If patches are available, they will be downloaded immediately. When the system is started, the patches are also installed immediately; otherwise at the start of the respective DATAflor Programs.
b) If the computer is in operation at night, the service checks DATAflor Version manager the availability of new patches every night between 01:00 and 02:00. The time is set automatically when the version manager is installed and is stored on the Options tab displayed. If patches are available, they are downloaded immediately and automatically half an hour after downloading or when the respective one is started DATAflor Programs installed.
- It can take a few minutes for the operating system to execute all processes after the system has started.
- The patches will be not by manually starting the service DATAflor Version manager Installed.

Version manager functions
Show version status
On Workstations tab the data on the version status of the product are displayed for each workstation in the network.
In the network, you can individually specify which users can see the product information from all workstations or only the information from their own computer. The setting of the user rights can be found on the Options tab.
The color coding (green, orange, red) of the individual patches shows the respective processing status.

The table shows the following data for each patch:

You can sort and group the display of the patch data individually in the table.
You can use the search fields to search for a computer in the network (PC name) or find a specific patch by searching for version number, TFS case, date, etc.
Basic settings
On the tab Options > General the system-relevant data such as the name and port of the version manager server, download directory and download time are displayed in the upper area.
Users who are logged on to the server with administrative rights can change the name and port of the version manager change and set a different download directory.
User administration
In the lower part of the tab Options > General find the User administration of the version manager.
By default, the Workstations tab Windows users only see the version of their own PC and it is not possible to install the patch manually. You can use the user administration to enable additional functions for selected users:

| Can others see the patches that have been installed? | If the right is activated, the respective Windows user not only sees the installed ones when using the version manager DATAflor Products from other PCs, but also the patches installed there. |
| Can I install patches manually (locally)? | If the right is activated, the respective Windows user can use the version manager at the network workstation at which he is logged on, Install patches manually. |
- The administration of user rights in networks can only be carried out on the server by users who are logged on with administrative rights.
- At individual workstations, every user who is logged on with administrative rights has access to the user rights management.
Enter in the field Search… If you enter a user name (Windows logon name), the rights that are available to this user in the version manager are displayed below. Activate or deactivate the required rights. With [All rights] you can activate or deactivate all rights at the same time.
If nothing is displayed, the user has not yet been assigned any rights. By clicking on 
add the user in the user administration of the version manager. The dialogue Create Windows users will be opened. Activate the required rights and confirm the setting with [Save user].
To remove a user from the user administration, select the user in the field Search… and click [Delete user]. The version manager is then available to this Windows user with the standard (ie restricted) user rights.

Check and install patches manually
By default, new patches are downloaded and installed automatically. Via the tab Patch installation Checking, downloading and installing can also be carried out manually at any time.
Manual checking and installation of patches can only be performed by users who are in the User administration of the version manager the right Can install patches (locally)? assigned.
at the server / single workstation
When calling the tab Patch installation the system automatically checks whether new patches are available for the installed products. If new patches are available, they will be downloaded immediately. The dialogue DATAflor Patch installer is opened with the message "(Download ...)" and a waiting symbol.
The download is only carried out the first time the tab is called up in the respective program session.

When the download of new patches is finished, the dialog DATAflor Patch installer automatically closed. On the tab Patch installation the downloaded patches are displayed in the left area. You can do this with [To install] now install manually.

at the network workplace
On the tab Patch installation the patches that have already been downloaded on the server and prepared for installation on the network workstation, but have not yet been installed on the network workstation, are displayed for the installed products. With [To install] you can now install these patches manually.
Patches that have not yet been downloaded to the server and are not yet prepared for installation on the network workstation are not available.
