Add objects

DATAflor GRÜNSTUDIO 3D contains many different objects with which you can plan your projects. Each object has further setting options. All of them use the following logic:

  1. Click on the desired object category.
  2. Change the settings if necessary.
  3. Follow the instructions in the dynamic help.

When you have added an object, it is immediately marked for editing.

Select objects

DATAflor GRÜNSTUDIO 3D has various simple tools to manipulate objects in a variety of ways. To edit, rotate or scale an object, you must first select it. There are several ways to select an object. It depends what you want to do with it.

To select a single object:

  1. Position the cursor over an object.
  2. Click to select the object. All other objects lose their selection. If you click on a point on which there are several objects, the closest is selected first. If you click again, the closest object is selected and so on.
  3. If you want to select an additional object, repeat the process while holding down the button Shift pressed.

To select objects with a bounding rectangle:

  1. Zoom the view so that the desired objects are all in the field of view.
  2. If you want to add the objects to an existing selection, hold the button Shift.
  3. Click and drag to draw the selection rectangle. The rectangle must completely surround the desired objects. When you release the mouse button, the objects are part of your selection.

When objects are selected, change their border to indicate that they are selected.

Move, rotate and scale objects

To move, rotate or scale an unselected object:

  1. Click or press the tool you want T to move, R for turning or S for scaling.
  2. Position the cursor on the desired object and click to select it.
  3. Drag the mouse to move, rotate, or scale the object.

To move, rotate or scale multiple objects:

  1. Select the objects you want.
  2. Position the cursor on one of the selected objects.
  3. Click and drag to move, rotate, or scale them.

You can also rotate and scale a selected object using the green points on the frame.

Delete objects

To delete one or more objects:

  1. Select the objects.
  2. Press Del or right click and choose Delete.

Cut, copy & paste objects

You can quickly duplicate your objects using the copy and paste commands.
With Ctrl + X cut out objects from your project. However, these are saved in the clipboard and can be accessed with Ctrl + V be inserted again.
With Ctrl + C copy an object to match it with Ctrl + V to be reinserted elsewhere. All of these commands can also be found in the menu when you select an object and click once with the right mouse button.

Group objects & break grouping

When you work with a lot of objects, it is a good idea to group them together to make them easier to move, rotate, or scale. By selecting the desired objects, you determine which should belong to the group. Right-click on a selected object and select Group. Then your selection is a large object. You can easily dissolve this group, either in the right margin of the picture or with a right click below Dissolve grouping.

Change object settings

Objects are defined by their settings. The settings can be used to change the functions or appearance of individual objects. All changes can easily be made Undone be canceled again.

When you add an object, it is always visualized in the standard view. You can edit these preferences by editing the settings before placing the object in the project. Objects that have already been added are not affected by the changes.

Changing the settings of several objects

A useful tool is the ability to change the settings of several identical objects. For example, if you have several plants of the same species in the project, you do not have to select each one individually in order to change them. Highlight these plants and change the settings once for all of them at the same time.
