Edge sets in the Smart DTM

Description

Edge sets are used for creating Surfaces needed. If the edge sets are created independently, this has the advantage that you can assign the edge sets to multiple surfaces.

Application

Create edge set

For the function Edge sets click on the corresponding icon. The window will open where you first have one Namur under which the edge set is to be saved.

In the dialog you now have the option of adding either break lines or border lines using the corresponding plus sign. Then select the objects in the drawing (polylines, lines, arcs or arcs).

Breaklines define vertical slopes and steps in the terrain.
Border edges subdivide the surface into terrain areas (e.g. to have only one processing area calculated).

The selection is made either by clicking with the mouse pointer or by one of the other Selection methods, the in the help of BricsCAD to be discribed.

By clicking with Enter the break lines are stored in the set of edges.

Edge sets that were created incorrectly can be identified by the symbol Delete can be deleted in the right area. In addition, there is also the option of zooming in on a break or boundary edge, making it easier to identify.

To get the edge sets too to save, click on the HomeButton in the upper area. A query is made for Save.

Use edge set

To use this created set of edges for a surface, open the main page of the Surfaces.
Use the plus symbol to create a new interface or open an interface that has already been created.
The edge sets'll be yours in the area Edge sets displayed. In the right area there is the possibility to select them in order to add them to the surface.

By clicking the symbol Edit (Pen) in the area on the right takes you directly to the editing of the edge sets and can make changes there.

If you make changes in an edge set, these changes apply to all surfaces where these edge sets are used.

Features

If you're on the Overview page from Edge sets you will see all the edge sets that have already been created and you can use the plus sign to create additional edge sets.

Further settings can also be made for each set of edges:

Delete edge setIf you click on an edge set, the symbol for appears in the upper area Delete of the selected edge set.

If you delete a set of edges, it is also deleted in all surfaces where this set of edges was used.
