Store CAD user data in the network

Description

If you want to make the same user data available to all of your CAD workstations, you can store them in the network.

Libraries from the DATAflor Quick Manager (groups and palettes) as well as the user-defined configuration of the DATAflor Topic managers must be moved to the network separately from this (see below).

Database and network access

  1. Calling up the manager for database and network access on the master computer
  2. Hook at Keep current settings remove and under Network select the path in the network using the button. Then the Copy the configuration to the network drive.
  3. All other computers must select the same network path via the database manager. The same content can then be accessed. If several CAD programs from DATAflor are installed, the user data can be merged, shared and adapted on all computers. Further information can be found in the chapter Database and network access.

Libraries from the DATAflor Place Quick-Manager in the network

  1. Define the master computer and import all the desired libraries, if necessary adjust them to suit the user.
    1. Right mouse button in the Quick Manager - Online libraries - Load / import groups,
    2. possibly right mouse button in the quick manager - Create a new group.
  2. Reset other computers to the standard palettes (groups: Design, Views and Surfaces). Delete library entries that differ from the master computer. If content is to be retained, save / export the groups or palettes beforehand, if necessary.
  3. On the master computer, specify the network path in the Quick Manager where the libraries are to be located in the future and are thus always accessible for all computers via the network.
  4. Right-click those groups in the Quick Manager Copy,
to be copied to the network; these are then available twice in the quick manager of the master computer. The group in italics is the one that is on the network and should continue to be used.
  5. Enter the same network path that has already been defined in the Quick Manager on all other computers. The network groups of the master computer are then available for selection.

All adjustments in DATAflor Quick managers are only backed up when DATAflor CAD is closed and restarted.

Put the configuration from the Topic Manager (graphics and labeling) into the network

  1. Quick-Masses - Theme Manager . call
  2. In the open topic manager on the master computer, specify the network path with the right mouse button.
  3. The configured group (folder symbol) with the left mouse button in the topic manager on the node Network pull and drop. This is then moved to the network path.
  4. Enter the same network path that has already been set in the Topic Manager on all other computers. The corresponding groups of the master computer are then available for selection. To do this, the topic manager must be called up again.
